Rivendell River Hall miniature from The Lord of the Rings

A 1:250 scale miniature model of one of the buildings in Rivendell from ‘The Lord of the Rings’.
Part of a whole model of Rivendell, this building was built by hand with styrene, wood and resin, with LED’s in the tower and main section of the building.
This building and whole project has taken a lot of work before making; drawing up plans and layouts based on screen references, bigatures made, as well as conceptual art.
The roof was cast in thin resin and then heated up to curve around a wooden form of the roof. The texture was pressed into a slab of clay which was then moulded. It is then finished off with printed vinyl decals which morphs to the contours of the roof.
All the details are hand made, with the decorative pillar pieces being sculpted in clay and then cast in resin. The whole building was finished off with acrylic paints.
