A 1:6 scale miniature of Bilbo Baggins in his study, as seen in the Lord of the Rings. This was heavily inspired by Weta Workshops 10th Anniversary model of the same scene.
The main body of the model was built on a wooden routed base with foamboard walls. The fireplace and chimney was made using XPS foam and plaster, with a balsa wood mantlepiece. The herringbone floor was laid with wood and then stained. The window frame was built using wood, with a cast plaster round frame and resin window panes. The surrounding rocks were made using foam, with coarse sand as dirt. The foliage was sculpted out of paper clay and milliput as well as some paper leaves.
The inside details were sculpted out of paper clay, polymer clay, and milliput, with resin cast glass jars and pots. The furniture and skirting were model made out of thin wooden sheets and painted.
All details were hand painted using acrylic paints.
Bilbo was sculpted using polymer clay.
